Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team. The Trade Compliance Specialist will report to the VP of Production. This position will work to ensure compliance with global import and export trade regulations through development and oversight of corporate trade compliance strategies, policies, and procedures. Support daily sales, customer service, and international shipping activities. The position is not remote and will be required to report daily.
Main responsibilities include tactical, oversight and strategy.
- Export Licensing
- Free Trade Agreements
- Freight Forwarder and Customhouse Broker Relationships
- Routed Exports
- Perform Post-Export and Post-Import Audits
Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis.

A bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering. Strong oral and written communication and strong computer skills. Ability to work independently. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, organizational skills. Previous experience within an export or import department of a manufacturer preferred. Previous experience with a freight forwarder or customhouse broker preferred.
