Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a Technical Publications Manager. The Technical Publications Manager leads the technical publications team and manages technical documentation projects for the machinery Urschel manufactures.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversees research, writing, illustration, and photography aspects of machine manuals.
- Supervises staff of writers, illustrators, and administrative support.
- Coordinates the in-house production and distribution of technical literature.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches and equipment.
- Coordinates programs to produce multiple language versions of technical literature.
- Manages all content produced by the department.
- Work in tandem with Urschel Design Engineering Group.
The successful candidate must be an expert writer with exceptional interpersonal communication and critical thinking talents. Knowledge of technical manual production from start to finish is required, as well as demonstrated project management skills and strong mechanical aptitude. A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a related field and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Solidworks experience a plus. Reports to the Director of Design Engineering.
