Urschel designs and manufactures industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility. We are seeking a Materials Engineering Intern.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Become proficient with all of the equipment used in the Metallurgical Lab
  • Assist with incoming raw material inspections
  • Assist with failure analysis investigations
  • Provide technical support to the Heat Treat Department
  • Provide technical support to the Tool & Die Department
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with any process/materials related shop issues
  • Complete special projects as needed and other duties assigned
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited University, with a major in Materials Engineering
  • Must be entering Junior or Senior level standing (or Sophomore who has completed introductory Materials Engineering courses) with a current GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • Position to start summer 2024 (May 13 through Aug 11)
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivated
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment
  • Must possess a high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm and confidentiality
