Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for analyzing products and product families, as well as identifying, planning, and executing cost savings, quality, productivity, and/or safety improvement projects.  The position is not remote and will be required to report daily to the Corporate Headquarters in Chesterton, Indiana.
 
Primary job duties include:
·      Designing manufacturing routings for parts and machines, with a focus on part quality and preservation of design intent
·      Troubleshooting production problems and assisting management in developing permanent solutions
·      Creating cost estimates
·      Improving current manufacturing processes
·      Assisting in capital improvement expenditures
 
Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and a high degree of proficiency with machining, fabrication, and metal casting. The qualified candidate will possess, at a minimum, an associate’s degree in engineering or technology and/or five years of Urschel manufacturing experience. Experience with manufacturing systems engineering, continuous improvement, and lean techniques is highly desired.
