Urschel is the global leader in food cutting technology. The company manufactures and sells commercial cutting equipment to the food processing and allied industries. With over 50 models offered, all machines are made to exacting standards at our 100% employee owned advanced manufacturing  facility in Chesterton, Indiana.
 
We are seeking a Machine Crater for our day shift operations working Monday – Friday. Successful candidates will be responsible for packing, wrapping, and crating parts, machines, and other items for shipment.  Designs and builds custom crates for show machines and other equipment, using hand tools, power saws, and powered industrial trucks to accomplish jobs.  Checks all parts and machines against orders for accuracy and ensures all exported wooden crates are properly stamped per international standards. Loads completed orders onto truck when necessary and forwards all necessary shipping documents to office shipping clerks.
 
Qualified applicants must have a minimum of one-year work experience in a related environment with a high school diploma or equivalent. The candidate must have basic carpentry skills, be familiar with the safe use of handheld power tools, power saws and lift trucks. This position requires good judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to understand math, quantities, weights and measurements.
