Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking an International Shipping Clerk to join our Customer Service team. The International Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing shipping paperwork for international shipments.
Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.
$19.74/Hour

This position will process airfreight shipments and prepare all customs shipping documents. Process sea freight shipments, contact forwarder for booking number and generate all customs documents to submit to customer and forward. Complete bookings for all courier shipments (UPS/FedEx/DHL) and deliver all customs documents to the shipping department to accompany shipments. Correspond with customers on shipment details by sending necessary documentation for approval to determine method and timeframe for pickup. Book truck shipments and create shipping labels in TMS system. Maintain shipping related responses to email requests from customers, offices, agents, and forwarders.
Qualified applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent math, organization, multi-tasking, and critical thinking talents. Ability to work independently and possess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal. Strong computer skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Manufacturing background is a plus.
