Urschel, a 100% employee owned company, is seeking a Health and Safety Technician to join our EHS team. The Health and Safety Technician will support the EHS Manager in administering Company Health and Safety programs and fostering a culture of safety.
 
Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.
 
The Health and Safety Technician will practice a range of disciplines including:

• industrial hygiene
• ergonomics
• training
• hazard assessment/communication/control
• emergency response and preparedness
• accident investigation
• worker’s compensation administration
   

The successful candidate must be employee focused with strong interpersonal skills, capable of researching and incorporating content into companywide safety programs. Excellent technical writing, organization, and critical thinking talents are required. Bachelor’s degree and 1 - 3 years’ EHS work experience is preferred, although not necessary.
