Urschel is the global leader in design and manufacture of precision high-speed size reduction machinery.  With over 50 models offered, all machines are made to exacting standards at our employee-owned advanced manufacturing facility in Chesterton, Indiana.  We are seeking candidates for the position of Systems Administrator for the IT department.
 
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for security monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processed, reviewing system/application logs, and verification. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Maintain operational, configuration, or other company IT procedures. Perform backups and regular file archival and apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis.
 
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Technology and/or equivalent experience in IT systems. Applicants must possess excellent communication talents, strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Active Directory. Knowledge in data and recovery systems is required. Minimal weekends and evenings are required but no significant travel required.
