Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, has two openings for the position of Stainless Steel Fabricator for our day shift operations working full-time Monday-Friday and may require working on Saturday based on workloads.
Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.
Starting pay is $27.46/hour

A day in the life of a Stainless Steel Fabricator performs multiple fabrication disciplines, such as forming, laser cutting, and spot-welding to stainless steel sheet metal and other materials using sheet metal equipment. Operates multiple types of equipment to achieve engineering print specifications, while maintaining tolerances. Applies efficient methods and job procedures to complete jobs. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum of one to two years related experience and/or training, ability to solve math problems presented by jobs in this departmental skill level (general arithmetic using decimals and fractions), and ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, scales, tape measures, protractors and chamfer gauges). Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and blueprints. Ability to create and interpret set-up cards, routine reports, and procedure documents. Physical demands include continuously standing for long periods of time. Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs.
